Instead of holding firm on economic sanctions that prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, the Obama administration continues to grant delays in nuclear talks and offer Iran relief from economic sanctions. Last week, Secretary of State John Kerry announced a seven month extension to the talks, granting leniency to Iran. The administration has not taken Iran’s nuclear threat seriously over the past year, and it is critical to the security of the United States and our allies that we make it clear: a nuclear Iran is unacceptable. We must redouble our efforts on the economic sanctions that brought Iran to the negotiating table in the first place. We must compel Iran to abandon its nuclear program.
