Insurance Question for NICU mommies: sorry, i am literally insurance retarded i feel. I know you cannot sign your kids up for health insurance until theyre born, however if you have babies that stay in the Nicu, does that go on the mothers insurance or whatever insurance you choose for them once theyre born? Im trying to figure out who / what were going to do when my boys are born (februaryish) theyll either be put on a plan with my husband or have their own depending on costs. If theyre premature and they have to stay in the NICU how does that work for insurance? Should i go with a better insurance if theyre in the NICU or is it something covered by my insurance (which i have great personal insurance but its too expensive to add them to mine that we cannot afford) help?!
