Interested to see this nominated for the doc Academy Award this year. Its supposed to be brilliant, very interesting technique, despite Wenders pretentious droning in the trailer. I know pathetically little about photography as art, but immediately recognized that Id been privileged enough to see a few of Sebastiao Salgados amazing original Workers prints, in the upstairs of a swanky, ultra-expensive Royal Street gallery we walked into in New Orleans. Always amazing to see how often the real stuff just jumps off the wall at you. Because Im so ignorant, I had no idea at the time who he was, but I knew from across the room that he must be a huge name... without even seeing the price tags.
