Interesting . . . How are altitude training systems fundamentally - TopicsExpress

Interesting . . . How are altitude training systems fundamentally different from this? In both cases, the effect is hypoxia, and a resultant change in blood readings and performance. If the ingestion of certain gases is banned because it constitutes a Hypoxia-Inducible Factor (HIF), then why is artificially lowering the partial pressure of available oxygen (also a HIF) not banned? (Im not against altitude training . . . just seems to be an inconsistency, to me.)
