Interesting! Just had a very heated discussion with a woman from kittyhawk close . She came over with a planning application she was consulted on for a hard surfaced multi- use sports area on the open space area at hornchurch road . She then proceeded to say that this area would attract anti-social , drug taking , peeing everywhere, swearing (gold help us ) teenagers who do nothing but hang out and cause trouble. I explained that it is a public open space area and designed for multi Use and that not all teenagers cause trouble and that the teenagers I know deserve an area to play sports on all year round. She said it would attract extra traffic cos they are all going to drive to it? !! And then said that they should put it as far away as possible - why not on the school ground ? I explained that is privately owned so she said put it on the new football ground ?! Funny though, her kids are 6 years old ... Wonder what she will think of her bigoted ideas once they get to teenage years.. I know that not all teenagers are angels in fact most are not and they are intimidating even Gage and his mates are loud in a group. But they are still kids and residents and deserve a space to just be. She suggested they just built them a bench ? So instead of getting exercise they can sit in the cold and look even more intimidating. What is the world coming to when someone wants to build a sports area on a public open space amenity/ sports area and people object ? Its the dog owners who let their dogs crap everywhere that are the unsociable ones!!
