Interesting. When I read the Bible, I find it indicates that materialism is bad, that wealth is bad, that we should feed and give health care to anyone who needs it without any qualifiers, that we should take care of the immigrant children that is so controversial right now, and that interest on loans is unacceptable. I also find that many lenders are guilty of usury. It speaks against public prayer and calls those who endeavor to be seen praying as hypocrites. It prohibits coveting, which is the driving force behind our economy and marketing. It also says to honor the Sabbath, which millions of people ignore all the time. In other words, if you use the Bible as a guide for decision making, standard American practices are defying the word of God every day and in many ways. Perhaps he should try opening the Bible himself and following what it says. I would call this a major backfire.
