Interesting and good summary article on what happened in court today. PHOENIX (CBS5) - Dozens of potential jurors were back in Superior Court Monday as jury selection continued in the Jodi Arias sentencing re-trial. One potential juror disregarded the judges order not to do any research on the case or watch any media reports. The juror said that he watched a movie about Arias over the weekend. He then walked out of the courthouse and never came back. He was among several potential jurors dismissed Monday for an assortment of reasons. Some of the questions jurors were asked included: -Have you already made up your mind about the death penalty? -If Jodi Arias doesnt offer an explanation for what she did should she get the death penalty? -Would you be open to life in prison? -Do you have an opinion about Jodi Arias? Prospective juror Kelly Hobart was dismissed from the case because she said that shes already formed an opinion about Arias that the convicted killer should be put to death. I think its a waste of taxpayers money to do this, said Hobart. I think what she did was a heinous thing, very, very cruel. She need to get the death penalty. Attorneys on both sides kicked out potential jurors based on answers they gave in court and a written questionnaire. A dismissed juror named Jessica said that she could not ethically or morally decide whether someone should get the death penalty. For me, it was very emotional, said Jessica. I dont feel that I can make that type of decision. I feel it is not my place to judge, and God will judge her. One juror wrote on her questionnaire that, Jodi Arias is heartless and cruel. Another said, Im open to hearing the facts of the case. Legal Analyst Jeffrey Gold told CBS 5 news that in spite of the media frenzy surrounding Jodi Arias, hes confident theyll find a fair and impartial jury. In the end, has anybody in Maricopa County not heard of Jodi Aras? asked Gold. Probably not, but the question is - does it effect their ability to decide life or death. Jury selection will resume Tuesday morning. Copyright 2014 CBS 5 (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation). #justice4travis2014
