Interesting development +++++++++++++++++ Jerry Gana has denied even bailing Mohammed Yusuf. A popular syndicated columnist Mohammed Haruna once raised the issue of Ganas bailing of Yusuf in his column which was re-echoed by another popular columnist Olusegun Adeniyi. Jerry Gana called on his lawyer, Joe Kyari Gadzama, SAN, to take up the matter if the publishers of Mohammed Harunas column, Daily Trust newspaper, did not apologize for defamation of character. The newspaper had to publicly apologize saying it has no evidence to link Gana with the bailing of Yusuf. Ganas lawyer had argued that a bail is accompanied by a record of the name of the person who bails, the amount paid, etc which can be easily verified. Of course, popular belief differs. I am from Maiduguri where it is popularly believed that Gana and Yusuf were associates who have been sighted together many times. Gana was said to have even visited Markaz, BHs headquarters in Maiduguri. Some BH members were said to have left the organization because they were not satsfied with Yusufs explanation of his relationship with Gana. Yusuf implored his followers not to pokenose into other peoples affairs , and he also pointed out to those who raised eyebrows about Gana that even the Prophet (SAW) had dealings with Jews and Christians. Even some Christians in Maiduguri testified to Yusufs relationship with Gana. I personally have not seen the duo together! -Abdulrahman Muhammad on Eseoghene Al-Farouq Owojeheris wall.
