A bit about the guy who made the Claim. Christopher C. Burt is the author of Extreme Weather; A Guide and Record Book. He studied meteorology at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison. This is what he said= A powerful extra-tropical storm sideswiped the coast of New Zealand’s South Island bringing gales and flooding to the city of Christchurch and the heaviest rainfall seen in almost 40 years.
