Interesting phone call this morning, speaking with Mark over at gamehuntersafrica/ as part of my research for the next book. He was kind enough to chat with me for an hour about hunting and what it means to be a professional hunter. While its not for me, its hard to argue against it when you have someone as insightful as he breaking it down. For example, did you know Big Game Hunters operate their own anti-poaching units and conduct game number surveys for the WWF? They also provide food for local tribes and conduct their own conservation efforts. In Marks sanctioned area, Buffalo populations in the past 20 years have gone from just 1,200 all the way up to 22,000.
