Interesting read. As we start hurricane season this Sunday, one has to wonder if this season will END the longest streak without a major hurricane landfall in the US (based on # of days). You hear worry and panic all the time about the weather getting so bad. When in reality it remains pretty constant decade after decade. Main difference, today we hear about everything. 24 hours/day News outlets, more local news, internet (so much time to cover things that werent in the past). Also, cameras are available to everyone and we see the worst of the worst.
