Interesting stuff. I haven’t read the “Science” article yet. I’m curious why it says the fastest change. From a casual observers point of view there have been other rapid climate changes. The younger Dryas event some 12 thousand (or so) years ago was very fast. I find it hard to believe anything would be faster than the atmospheric impact from Chicxulub (spelling?) or the Deccan traps at the K-T boundary. We have better more detailed records of what is happening now but any casual student of Earth history can rattle off a litany of past catastrophic changes in the Earths’ atmosphere.
