Interesting times for my philosophy page on Facebook. Once again, - TopicsExpress

Interesting times for my philosophy page on Facebook. Once again, the reach has been stripped. Posts that already showed an existing reach of 400, have been completely stripped of that reach and are showing zero or single digit numbers. Im undecided as to whether it is Facebook, up to their usual and infamously expensive, self-serving activities, or the effects of ISP provider, Verizon being shut down for more than 24 hours without explanation - one of the two big beneficiaries of the change to net neutrality laws. Theres still interaction, but the Insight metrics arent showing it. The irony for me is, had they not changed the algorithms to cut almost all reach and then charge to get it back, I would have willingly paid. It was on my calendar to do so, when I first observed the effect of their changes. The result is that I will not spend any money, promoting my page. As many are aware, the value of doing so has dubious merit, given the exposure of Facebooks use of click-farms to voluminise likes, without creating either value or engagement for those paying for it. I foresee the current changes taking place on Facebook, as alienating users and creating a move away from it, as better optimised platforms, that better reflect a change in individual desire, to rise from time and energy input into socialising. people are increasingly seeking the benefits of a Meetup or a LinkedIn, that hold real personal value. Facebook may end in being another MySpace.
