Interesting (to me at least) story of what could be considered reverse reverse racism in a church (or confusedly sideways reverse uncle tom?) Freedom House ( freedomhouse.cc/team/ ) is, by all accounts very open and diverse Independent Christian Church near Charlotte, NC (possibly one of the most racially diverse in the area?). Executive Pastor of Operations Makeda Pennycooke, a Black Woman, sent email to a subset of Church Volunteers that includes the following: "We are continuing to work to bring our racial demographic pendulum back to mid-line," ... "So we would like to ask that only white people be on the front doors." [unfortunately I have not found full text of the email, but here are some more fragments gleaned from news reports] "We anticipate having an increase in the number of people visiting and attending Freedom House over the next few weeks," ... "first impressions matter" ... "the best of the best on the front doors." ... "We would rather have less greeters on the front door if it means that the few that we have will represent us the best," ---- It seems several apologies have been forthcoming.
