International Acting and Film making Retreat. Paxos, Greece. 29 September – 10 October 2014 Hello all, This is a letter inviting you to join our up-coming International Acting and Film making Retreat from 29 September to 10 October on the beautiful island of Paxos, Greece. The workshop will involve a mixture of script writing classes, physical exercises and improvisations, and Meisner work. All with a view to writing, shooting, acting in, directing and editing our own short films in the second week of the workshop. Learn how to produce your own work. Behind the scenes we have been working to create a wonderful workshop experience. One thing we can promise, you will be talking about the workshop for years to come. So make sure you don’t miss it. This is a pre-professional workshop for people wanting to develop their film making and acting skills. We would like you to submit a motivation letter outlining your experience along with your resumé / CV. Students will be chosen through a selection process. Only serious applicants please. Workshop overview • Please arrive for the workshop with nothing but your commitment to spend two weeks in a unique creative environment. • Scripts will be written during the workshop to utilize the students participating. • Participants will vote on the scripts to be filmed. We will shoot and edit as many as possible. • Films to be shot in the second week on 5d or 7d cameras with sync sound. • You can write a script or outline before the workshop but this should be based on Lars von Trier’s Dogma style. No props, no wardrobe, no lights. Before writing for guidance and analysis. Please contact me and I will send you the teachers details for you to begin a dialogue. • We want to ensure that you get maximum benefits from the workshop. Based on your experience, you may also have the opportunity to direct or edit one of the films. Workshop schedule and content The class begins Monday 29 September 2014 and we will work a five-day week. The workshop ends on Friday 10 October 2014. We would like students to try to commit to the full two-week workshop. For those interested in just one week.. The first week will be best for those interested in Script writing and the second week is best for filmmakers and actors. There are limited places, so please respond as soon as you can. We suggest you arrive on either the Saturday or Sunday before class begins, (27 September or 28 September) and leave on the Saturday or Sunday of our final week (11 October or 12 October). Please take into consideration extra costs for meals and accommodation on these dates. The Workshop fee is 500 euros for one week, and 1000 euros for the two weeks. For European students. Our cut off dates are... 27th of August.. Applications close. 30th for late comers. All full payments to be made by the 3rd of Sept. Our Canadian students will be charged differently based on the flight costs they must accrue. Working with industry professionals. The workshop fee covers teacher’s costs and venue.
