Interval Training!!! Interval training is built upon alternating short, high intensity bursts of speed with slower, recovery phases throughout a single workout. Interval training can increase cardiovascular efficiency (the ability to deliver oxygen to the working muscles) as well as increase tolerance to the build-up of lactic acid. These changes result in improved performance, greater speed, and endurance. Next time you are in the gym for a Cardio Session why not try adding intervals to your training for example run on the treadmill as fast as you can for 1 minute then slow jog for 1minute. Add intervals to your workout over a 4 week period and see the changes in your fitness levels. Happy Training!
