Into Sustainable Eating? Try this STUNNING PLUM SORBET....You dont need a fancy Ice-cream machine either ;) We are trying to cut down food waste, this not only helps your pocket but also the world around us. We need to be aware of how much we’re wasting or throwing out and learn how to avoid it. There are so many things we can do, it’s just knowing how. Heres one tip : All you need is a freezer! If you have a fruit tree or a neighbour does where there will be surplus crop this Summer/Autumn, or you can buy in bulk direct from a grower at your local market or nearby orchard.... chop it up, bag it up and freeze it. In this case I take the time to de-stone my plums and place them in the freezer ready to use for whenever - throughout the year. I could make jam, chutneys, ice-blocks, sorbet & into pies and baking. When plums are ripe they are perfect for turning into a stunning super quick sorbet which is sweet yet tart. #sustainableeating #freezeexcessfruit #supersimple #3ingredients Serves 6 1 kg ripe and juicy plums (or any fruit) stones removed & frozen zest of one orange 100g of raw honey or coconut sugar (adjust to your liking) About 5 minutes before you are about to make your sorbet remove them from the freezer, place into a food processor or blender with the orange zest and sweetener (if needed). The beauty of plums is that they are sweet yet tart! Wizz it up until smooth. Taste-adjust- Devine!
