Introducing Cami. I can not thank Rita Bailey enough for all she has done to take care of Cami, including fostering her for Doxie Tales. Heres the story that makes no sense..... The owner was moving and could not keep Cami so he was happy to surrender her to rescue for $40 to cover her cost (?) Rita went and picked her up for Doxie Tales. We suspected something odd so we did not market her at first. We did some research. We do not know who the person is who surrendered her to us. Pretty sure he gave us a fictitious name. We did find her vet! I called and told them the story. I feared Cami had been stolen and wanted to return her to her owners. The story then got strange and sad..... As told by the vets office.... The owner (who was not the person we got Cami from) was moving and could not keep her. They told the vet they needed to rehome Cami AND another dachshund. The vet was trying to help. A week later, the owners called the vet and said that a family member was taking both dogs, so they no longer needed help finding the doxies a new home. The vet was kind enough to send us Camis paperwork! Through her rabies tag number, we learned the owners name. I tried to contact them, but every number we found for them was disconnected. Im sure you will have to read through this again to make any sense of it. Trust me, its all shady! But, the bottom line is, we legally own Cami and she is ours! We waited and no one ever attempted to claim her. We gave the vet our information just in case, but no one ever called. Cami is now available for adoption through Doxie Tales. She is a very cute, red, short haired, female dachshund with a little white blaze on her chest. She enjoys being very close to Rita, sleeping in the big bed, and is also learning to enjoy her two foster fur siblings. She is being fostered in Florida.
