Introducing solid foods to babies can be daunting for most - TopicsExpress

Introducing solid foods to babies can be daunting for most parents! The recommendation is to gradually introduce suitable solid food to babies from around six months of age to meet their increasing nutritional and developmental needs. By 12 months of age, a variety of nutritious foods is recommended (fruit, vegetables, dairy, lean meats and wholegrain cereals and cereal products). Don’t worry if your baby refuses a new food. Babies may need to be offered foods many times before they learn to like them. ‘The First Taste’ video gives a cute snapshot of just some of the reactions babies and toddlers may have to new foods.
