Introducing some Colour Birds to add to this #FighterFriday ! Watch for our Colour Birds photo album coming soon... Photos 1 and 3: In 2002 there was an East Coast and West Coast CF-18 demo team. It was the last time that there would be two CF-18 demonstration teams. The East Coast CF-18, which was adorned with the Maple Leaf on its topside was painted to commemorate the 60th anniversary of CFB Bagotville, Quebec. It was flown by Capt Scott Shrubby Shrubsole from 425 Tactical Fighter Squadron. The West Coast demo CF-18 was painted as a hornet to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the CF-18 in RCAF service. It was flown by Capt Doug Dewey Clements from 410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. Photo 3 was taken over North Bay, Ontario. Photo 2: In 2000, 410 Squadron graphic artist Jim Belliveau, who is responsible for designing and painting all CF-18 demo Hornets that have flown in the RCAF, came up with this striking scheme to commemorate the New Millennium. It was flown by then Capt Scott Frog Greenough from 410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. Photos: Mike Reyno, MHM Publishing, with thanks
