Introducing you to Linda Campanella this is her site and her book(: Welcome to the official fan page for WHEN ALL THATS LEFT OF ME IS LOVE, the story of a dying mothers undying love and a daughter who is holding on while letting go. Comments and feedback welcome. Biography I am a management consultant and the mother of three grown sons. Before launching a consulting practice, my career included stints as an international trade negotiator forthe U.S. government, an aerospace industry executive, and a senior administrator at a private college. Im a graduate of Amherst College and hold a master’s from Georgetown Universitys School of Foreign Service. I reside in W. Hartford, CT, with my husband and high school sweetheart, Joe, and our mini-goldendoodle, Stella. Description WHEN ALL THATS LEFT OF ME IS LOVE is a sad story born of death, but it is a story thats full of life. It is an uplifting portrait of living, loving, believing and letting go. It is a celebration of the special bond between mothers and daughters, a touching love story, a spiritual journey, a poetry lesson, and even a case for happy hour. I wrote this account of my last year with my mother in the days and weeks following her death a year and a day after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. The writing and sharing of this story helped me come to terms with the pain and permanence of my loss. It is my hope that those who read it will be helped as well, inspired by my mothers example and by my familys determination to enjoy life while anticipating death. The book focuses, as I did with an unwavering will during that last year with my mother and best friend, on ways to ensure each new day would be one she’d look forward to because of the joy it could bring, rather than one to fear because it would mean she was one day closer to her final day. I did not want her to stop living while she waited to die. I also understood that, although I could do nothing to stop her from dying, there was much I could – and must – do to help her keep living. The interweaving of “real-time” accounts of events and emotions makes this story especially powerful and arguably quite unlike any other personal narrative recounting a family’s journey from death sentence to death. Ultimately, despite the sad topic and the heavy heart with which I wrote, WHEN ALL THATS LEFT OF ME IS LOVE is a hopeful, affirming book. It is about anguish, death, tears, and grief, but more than that the story is about love, faith, family, courage and gratitude. It’s about coming home to live rather than coming home to die, learning to cry, letting go, holding on, connecting, believing in what is possible, resolving to stay in the moment, making magic. It is not a how-to guide but rather is a loving tribute and an intensely personal memoir that may contain insights and inspirations that prove helpful to others who face death – either their own or their mother’s or that of any loved one.
