Introduction: God remembered his covenant with Abraham - TopicsExpress

Introduction: God remembered his covenant with Abraham (Exodus 2:24), that will give your family the land of Canaan (Exodus 6.4) although the Lord had told Abraham that his descendants would spend four generations in Egypt and promised to save them (Genesis 15.12-16), then God saw the suffering of his people in Egypt (Exodus 6:5). When the Lord brought his people out of Egypt through Moses, arranged to have made a covenant with this people that belonged to God. The basis of this was the Mosaic Covenant worship. Serve God and worship it was the center of this alliance. Many Christians want a one-sided relationship with God in order to receive blessings from the Lord only. But as God said to Abraham, Be thou a blessing (Genesis 12:2). We also serve God doing something for His Kingdom according to His will and ministry that called us. The cult was so important that there was a special day to worship God fully, which was Saturday. There was a special place to worship God who was the Tabernacle. Established a proper way to serve God that was the Sacrifice. Special people were separated to serve God ministering to the people who were the priests and Levites. Though this covenant was made with Moses, or by it, was not an Alliance with a person but only with all the people. It was a collective agreement where the ordinances of the Lord were declared and the people clung to them promising to serve God (Exodus 19.7,8). As God makes covenant with his people? Worship was this mosaic symbols that marked this Alliance and from these symbols we can see the meaning of this covenant. Lets see how this was Gods Covenant with his people: -> 1 - Covenant of Forgiveness: Blood Alliance Exodus 24.8 The sacrifice of a lamb was the most important time of worship. That blood symbolized the lamb died in the place of the sinner who deserved to die for his sin (Romans 6:23). Since Adam and Eve sinned and felt ashamed of being naked, so the Lord killed a ram and made clothes for them so that their sins were covered (Genesis 3:21). Noah to leave the ark offered a sacrifice to the Lord (Genesis 8:20). When Abraham was to offer Isaac as proof of his love and faithfulness to God, the Lord provided for him a lamb that was sacrificed (Genesis 22:13). And when the people left Egypt the Passover sacrifice a lamb and the blood of this lamb was spent on their doors to protect the people of God (Exodus 12:22) then went out alone! In the Covenant of God with his people a sacrifice lamb (Exodus 29.38) substitutive way to die in place of the sinner was established because without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22). In the New Covenant God sent the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Jesus not only covers our sins or replace it by dying for us. Jesus definitely erases our sins (Hebrews 9:14). The Blood Alliance means that God forgives our sins and remembers them no more (Jeremiah 31.34). God makes a covenant of forgiveness with you! 2 - Covenant Worship: Ark of the Covenant Numbers 10:33 God commanded Moses to make an ark and put it taboas the law, a bowl of manna and Aarons rod that blossomed as a testimony to the wonders that the Lord had done (Hebrews 9.4,5). On top of the Ark was a lid called the mercy seat that had carved two cherubim. The Ark was placed in the most private place of the Tabernacle, behind the veil which was called the Holy of Holies (Hebrews 9:3) and there God was manifested when the priest took the blood of the lamb to offer to the Lord for the sins of the people (Hebrews 9:7) . When people walked through the wilderness the Ark of the Covenant was in front leading the people along the way. God went before the Ark in a cloud or a pillar of fire called Shekinah. Where God stopped, stopped the Levites that bare the ark, and stopped the people (Numbers 10.33-36). The ark was so sacred that once a man named Uzzah touched her that thought she would fall and he died instantly because he was in sin (II Samuel 6:6-7). The Ark of the Covenant was the center of worship of God, because God is manifested on It (Exodus 25.22). To worship God in holiness had to be. The priest could not go to the Holy of Holies without first offering a sacrifice for your sins and sanctify (Leviticus 16:2). All the people stood in the tent door to worship God as the priest ministered to the Lord. When the people of God was entering the land of Canaan, the Ark went before the people and when they came to the Jordan River and the priests carrying the Ark stepped into the water the river stopped and opened to the people pass (Joshua 3.8-17 ). While the priests stood with the ark in the middle of the river, this has not returned to its path. Before the Ark of the Covenant, David celebrated and danced for joy before the Lord (II Samuel 6:12-17). In our Covenant with God we must be clear that the Lord is God and we are his servants (Psalms 100:3) then we should worship him in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96.9). God seeks worshipers and worship that He wants is in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). You have worshiped God or just want to receive the favor of the Lord? Write a Covenant Worship with the Lord! 3 - Alliance of Obedience: Cattails Alliance Deuteronomy 9.9-11 The cattails were the law which God has recorded the Ten Commandments to his people. In those ten precepts were the conditions of Gods covenant with his people. This Covenant was a covenant of obedience to God (Exodus 20). If the people sinned they would be breaking this covenant with God. It happened while Moses was on the mountain with Gods people sinned by making the golden calf and when Moses came down the mountain he broke the law cattails symbolizing that the people had broken the covenant with God (Exodus 32). After Moses himself intercedes for the people asking forgiveness from God and the Lord sends to other Taboas Law (Exodus 34). From that moment those cattails were the basis of the principles of God and based on them the rest of the Word of God was written. However people always disobeyed the ordinances of God. Today we are no longer in this Covenant of the Law because she was unable to save us (Galatians 2:16), then God wrote the New Law in our hearts and not in cattails stone (Hebrews 10.16,17). Now we live in the Spirit of the Law (Romans 8.2). For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14). Even without the law, we must obey God and that to obey is better than sacrifice (I Samuel 15:22). Jesus said: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you (John 15:14) and he also said that his commandment is: These things I command you, that you love one another (John 15:17). The greatest commandment is love (Mark 12.28-34), For all the law is fulfilled in one word, in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Galatians 5:14). You have sought to obey God? Try to do the will of God that He will help you. Before that people had to obey for fear and today we must obey God out of love, grateful for her saving grace. Write a Covenant Obedience to God! God makes a covenant with his people! -Conclusion: God wants an alliance with us all. When Moses brought the people Covenant with God, no one could get out. This leads us to reflect on the current individualism. Until peoples faith is individualized. Salvation is personal, but we must learn to share our faith, to live in communion, intercede for others and preach the gospel. Today there are no more sacrifices of lambs, for Jesus sacrifice offered once for all (Hebrews 9:28). Nor is there more to Ark of the Covenant or the Law of cattails Yet God makes us an Alliance of Forgiveness, Worship and Obedience.
