Introduction to December This December we are going to do something slightly different, through a a range of media: Bible Readings, Prayer and Videoâs, we are going to look at: # The story of God coming down to earth in the âperson of Jesusâ. âGod with us â Emmanuelâ. Jesus both fully divine and fully human # Why He came down, and as important # âUs with Godâ, why and how we should respond, we should realise this is a two-way story and must not be one-sided. Jesus successfully lived and experienced what it was and is like to live on this earth that He Himself created and gave freely to us, and the reverse of this - âus with Godâ. What are the implications of âusâ living with God, an aspect we do not often consider? Todayâs Post Today, we need to consider that Jesus has done what no other âmanâ has done and how He cannot be successfully compared to any other - for He is God come down in the person of Jesus. No other faith has God coming down to live with and among us His creation, with real love and without condemnation to lead us back to Him. What Glory and what true love! Bible Reading â Isaiah 40:18 and 25; John 13:13 18 With whom, then, will you compare God? To what image will you liken him? 25âTo whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?â says the Holy OneâĶ (John 13:13) 13(Jesus) âYou call me âTeacherâ and âLord,â (Adonai) and rightly so, for that is what I am.
