Inverbeg - Fort Augustus (105 miles) Well the morning when I set off from Inverbeg the weather was very fresh but a nice morning. I set of the back of 9am and headed up the west side of Loch Lomond and headed to Tarbet. I was on the A82 all day today so the road surface was very good and had a good mixture of climbs and drops. I then headed onto Inveruglas and Inverarnan. I then was cycling to Tyndrum and up the east side of Loch Tulle and just before the start of the climb to Glencoe I pulled in to get an extra layer out the van as I could feel the temperature drop as I started going through the vallays. What a fantastic place and I was beaming the weather was nice today as its absolutely beautiful and spent a good time there getting pictures and looking at the scenery! After Glencoe I went to Ballachulish and continued up the east side of Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe. Fort William was the next town I passed through and had some twat in a van hinging out the window shouting abuse at me thinking they were cool and some wee chav drive past in his sooked up banger and decided to gee me the fingers once he wiles well past me! Fort William obviously havent been Introduced to bikes yet and didnt know what I was doing!! Need to grow up like! I just blanked them and kept going and cycled along side Loch Lochy and Loch Ouch before I arrived into Fort Augustus!! Once we arrived at the hostel there was a group of lads that had just came back from a bike ride and one had a gash in the knee and another with skin hanging off his hand due to a crash! The reception was not open when we arrived so good old mum got the first aid kit out and helped them! Haha All in all today was a fantastic ride as the weather was perfect for cycling and the scenery was amazing!! No wonder dad loved this place so much! Fair to say its my favourite stage I have done! 105 miles 5 hours 51 mins in saddle
