Investigate PMSSS 1200 Crore Scam : CCA Srinagar, Sep 22:Coming down heavily on consultants, NGOs, State and Central Government, Coaching Centres Association (CCA) Sunday said alleged that consultants and NGOs in the garb of free scholarships are duping the innocent students while,State and Central Government including Regulatory Bodies like MHRD and AICTE have failed to implement the Rs 1200 crore Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) in letter and spirit. Citing examples, Chairman CCAm G. N. Var said that thousands of students were first taken to the different colleges of other states with assurances that education including Hostel facilities would be free there. “But now recently those colleges have started asking the students to pay their dues. Many of the needy students can’t afford to pay and want to return but these Institutions are not returning their original documents,” he said adding that,"When student has to pay the fees, then why not to choose the college of choice?" He demanded that State Government should send an official delegation to these colleges to rescue JK students from the clutches of these colleges. He also demanded from MHRD and AICTE to declare the list of successful candidates at the earliest.
