Invisible Walls Wales - Project Officer - CTCA-00637 Gwalia - Bridgend Project Officer Closing date : 15/10/2014 Reference : CTCA-00637 Department : Cwm Taf Cardiff and Vale Salary : 19,984 Employment type : Fixed Term Hours per week : 37.5 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Invisible Walls Wales Project team working in partnership to deliver enterprise, employment, training, education and volunteering initiatives to clients engaged with the Invisible Walls Wales project at HMP Parc. The Invisible Walls Wales project is delivered by a consortia of agencies. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund until 2016, G4S is the lead agency and grant holder, working in partnership with Gwalia, Barnardos, Bridgend County Council and Welsh Centre for Crime and Social Justice. The project aims to: - Reduce reoffending by strengthening family ties, and - reduce intergenerational offending. Invisible Walls works to achieve these outcomes by working across two service hubs - HMP Parc and the surrounding community. This model enables the service to work with both the imprisoned fathers and their partners and children living in the community. The following interventions and support services are provided to prisoners and their families via Family Intervention workers based inside the prison and practitioners based within the community (although workers will often work across both areas): - Parenting programmes - Advocacy services - Family Group Conferencing - Volunteering programmes Support is delivered to the offender and their family 12 months prior to release from Prison and for a period of up to 6 months in the community.
