Brief about the topic : Happiness has many meanings and dimensions. Almost each individuals idea of happiness is different and unique. Happiness is something that everyone frenetically and unexceptionally desires but something that one rarely feels to have achieved. Indeed, the conscious and dogged pursuit of happiness is often the principal cause of the creation of unhappiness and sorrow for oneself and for others, since the elements that seem to constitute happiness in the popular imagination are not always harmonious and are often at conflict with each other. The ideas of gross national happiness and happy planet index have helped us in reaching quantitative and utilitarian understandings of happiness for the purpose of policy guidance. However, happiness has more to do with thoughts, emotions, attitudes and perceptions than with the existence of certain external conditions. Happiness has also very little to do with future. It is more about what one is - here and now.
