Inzaghi: Very proud of this Milan Pippo Inzaghi is “very happy and proud to be the Coach of this Milan” after a 5-4 win at Parma, but feared an upset. The Rossoneri are joint top of the Serie A table with six points, having scored eight goals and conceded five. “We must be very, very happy, as this is an extraordinary group. Let’s not forget where we are coming from,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I saw the moves that we tried out in training used to score great goals, but I also saw that we conceded on every chance that we allowed. It was a very open game, but I think there can be few doubts that Milan deserved to win. “At the final whistle I was thinking it would’ve been a shame to not win a game we were always in control of. That fear set in that this team, which so badly needs confidence, could’ve dropped points in this situation. “I also compliment the two centre-backs who came on, as we went down to 10 men and had to introduce Rami and Zapata without a minute of warm-up. This is the spirit of Milan. I don’t know how far we can go, but I am very proud to be the Coach of this team.” Milan host Juventus at San Siro on Saturday in what is a head-to-head clash at the top of the Serie A table. “We are playing against a side that is a cut above, but we must try to play like Milan. In the long run it might be unbalanced, but in a one-off match we can have our say and make up for the quality gap with other things. “Clearly difficult moments will arrive, as we are reconstructing, but when I watch these lads training and putting those moves into action in a match, I am happy. “We’ve got this great game coming up at San Siro and we fully intend to enjoy it.” Fernando Torres was ruled out by a sprained ankle, but Jeremy Menez had a stunning game as a ‘False 9.’ Does Inzaghi feel sorry he might have to break up this system to use Torres? “As we saw today, there are injuries and I will need everyone. Menez was exhausted at the end, as he was chasing everyone down. Let us not forget Menez was signed as a free agent and people weren’t impressed with his arrival, but if these are the free agents then they are very welcome!” Inzaghi was also asked why Daniele Bonera was used at centre-back rather than Cristian Zapata. “I have five centre-backs, so I need to consider the characteristics. As Parma did not have Biabiany, I thought we wouldn’t have to deal with too many of their counter-attacks.”
