Iowa could expect to net more than $24 million in new annual tax revenues if it legalized marijuana, a national report predicted Monday. Iowas estimated marijuana-tax revenues are relatively low. Thats mainly because only 4 percent of Iowans over 25 acknowledge smoking marijuana in the past month, the report says. The national average is 5 percent. (The highest state — as it were — is Alaska. More than 11 percent of residents there say theyve smoked marijuana in the past month.)
