Ipswich care home has failed to protect people’s safety and welfare says regulator The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has warned the owner of The Nunnery they must make improvements to comply with the national standards of quality and safety. During an unannounced inspection at the home, in Denmark Street, Diss, Norfolk, on 17 April, the provider was found to be failing to meet eight of the national standards of care and safety assessed. Inspectors found the owners of The Nunnery needed to make improvements in relation to safeguarding people who use services from abuse, cleanliness and infection control, management of medicines, safety and suitability of premises, requirements relating to workers, supporting workers, assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision and records. Providers of care services have a legal responsibility to make sure they are meeting all national standards of quality and safety. CQC issued warnings to the home demanding it made improvements relating to records, assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision and cleanliness and infection control. cqc.org.uk/media/ipswich-care-home-has-failed-protect-people%E2%80%99s-safety-and-welfare-says-regulator
