#Iran-IAEA sign cooperation agreement in framework of NPT Nov 11, 2013 #Tehran, (#SANA) – Iran and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of nuclear non proliferation treaty (NPT) after talks held between Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano and Head of Irans Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi. In a joint press conference held with Amano Monday, Salehi stressed his countrys good intentions through sighing the agreement which includes an annex with six articles, pointing out that the agreement comes in the framework of NPT and proves Irans good intentions. He clarified that the IAEA inspectors will visit Arak plant for heavy water production. For his part, Amano appreciated Tehran for its increased cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and the “important steps” it has taken for the verification of its nuclear activities.
