Iris-May Vanden Berg Honoured for VIP Service Yesterday (Tuesday 18th November) one of the New South Wales Police Forces real assets, Iris-May Vanden Berg, was honoured by Superintendent COX and Inspector HENKLE for 15 years of dedicated service as a Volunteer In Policing; 13 of those years spent at Westmead Childrens Hospital with the Community Policing Centre (CPC). Iris-Mays contribution towards those who serve within the New South Wales Police Force was immense, and her work with sick children especially well received and appreciated by the 50 plus honoured guests assembled for the award ceremony. Iris-May, who is retiring on November 28, was handed a beautiful glass plague from Superintendent COX for her contribution to the VIP network and Parramatta LAC, and a 20 year VIP honorary pin by a chuffed Inspector HENKLE. An emotional Iris-May gave thanks to all who have contributed to her career, and wished all those well who continue to serve the New South Wales Police Force in a Volunteer In Policing capacity, and of course, those thousands of officers who continue to defend life and property on a daily basis within the state of New South Wales. Superintendent COX was honest in his appraisal of Iris-May, stating that people such as Iris-May are the salt of the earth, not only in Policing circles, but due to their willingness to help others, and Iris-May certainly fits that bill. From Inspector HENKLE of the Volunteer in Policing unit, and all at Parramatta LAC, we wish Iris-May all the best in her retirement, and hope nothing but good fortune comes her way in the future. - Story: Senior Constable LOXLEY.
