Irish Football National Draw Background The FAI receives many requests from clubs for assistance with fundraising. The FAI’s Finance Committee decided to try to develop a new initiative to help clubs and researched how other associations and clubs are currently fundraising. They engaged with a number of clubs and leagues through internal contacts and committees and came up with a plan for a Irish Football National Draw. Concept • FAI organises the draw, the prizes, the printing etc. • Clubs purchase tickets for between €1 - €2 (depending on the amount). This is a nominal administration fee to help cover costs. • Clubs purchase these tickets by printing a Ticket Order Form from the FAI website. They then return the completed form, along with a cheque (or Postal Order/Bank Draft) for the tickets they require. • Clubs sell the tickets for €10 each – all money from all tickets sold is kept by the club • Clubs that order more than 100 tickets will have club name printed on tickets • Clubs get a turnkey, high profile/value fundraising vehicle with little or no financial risk to themselves • The minimum order is only 20 tickets, there is no maximum limit Draw Details • Draw will be made in November in the Aviva Stadium at the Ford FAI Cup Final • Closing date for ticket stubs to be returned is 25th October • Draw was launched publicly on 25th May • All Affiliates, Leagues & Clubs were contacted w/c 20th May Four Regions Country is split into four regions to ensure prizes are spread as evenly as possible: • Dublin • Rest of Leinster • Munster • Ulster and Connaught Many prizes are regional prizes while others are national prizes. There are also club prizes. - Regional Prizes • 4 x Ford Fiesta cars • 4 x Samsung Galaxy S4 Handsets, courtesy of Three • 4 x VIP UK Match Experiences for 2 at Anfield, Old Trafford or Celtic Park, courtesy of the FAI and Abbey Travel (includes travel & accommodation) • 4 x PlayStation 3 consoles + copy of FIFA 14, courtesy of EA Sports • 20 x Signed Ireland Home Jerseys, courtesy of Umbro • 20 x Men’s and Women’s Nivea Hampers • 4 x 2 Night Stays in Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links, including a round of golf - National Prizes • Trip for 2 to the Champions League Final 2014 (Lisbon), courtesy of Three • 2 x Samsung Galaxy S4 Handsets, courtesy of Three • 24-Seater Box in the Aviva Stadium, with €1,000 to spend on hospitality from the FAI and Compass • Trip for 2 to an Away Senior International Match, travelling on the team plane & staying at the team hotel • 2 x Samsung Home Cinema Systems, courtesy of Aviva (Home Insurance) • Free Power for a Year to a value of €2,500 courtesy of Airtricity • Trip for 2 to Copenhagen, including a VIP visit to the Carlsberg Brewery • A Year’s Supply of Lucozade Sport Club Hardware, including bottles, carriers and medical bags • Signed, Framed Photo of Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic, courtesy of DHL - Club Prizes • 1,000 x Pairs of Premium Level International Match Tickets • For every 100 tickets sold by a club, ticket holders of tickets sold by that club will go in to their own separate draw for two Premium Tickets to an International Match Over 1 in 50 chance of winning Next steps Below are the steps your club will follow to get involved, starting with ordering tickets: 1) Log onto the FAI website: fai.ie/draw 2) Click on “Order” on the left hand side to download the Order Form 3) Print the Order Form, decide how many tickets your club would like and complete the form 4) Return the form, along with a cheque (or bank draft/postal order) for the required amount to: Irish Football National Draw Football Association of Ireland National Sports Campus Abbotstown Dublin 15 5) Once your order is received tickets will be sent directly to you 6) Your club will have from then until October to sell your tickets 7) All ticket stubs must be returned to the address above no later than the 25th October to be included in the draw 8) The draw will take place in the Aviva Stadium on November 3rd 9) All winners will be contacted by the FAI following the draw It is expected that the draw will raise more than €500,000 for clubs and leagues in year 1.
