Irokosu Opeyemi DaDoctor Tinubu finally agrees to field Fola Adeola as APC Candidate ahead of next years polls - Meets with Mr Fola Adeola over Ogun State APC Ticket In what is described as the final nail on the coffin of the Incumbent, Governor Ibikunle Amosun by some founding members of Ogun State ACN (Now APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu finally succumbed to enormous pressure mounted on him to drop Governor Ibikunle Amosun as the partys 2014 gubernatorial candidate, by politicians within and around the South West. The pressure was so much that three (3) Obas, one a Paramount ruler were said to have called the APC National leader. In what was to be a final day of discussions, Fola Adeola was seen arriving the Bourdillon, Ikoyi home of Tinubu at exactly 9.45pm on Wednesday night, dressed in light blue Kaftan and black suede shoe. He was immediately ushered into a smaller meeting room because Tinubu was meeting with some leaders from Ekiti State at the time. The meeting with Adeola started at 11.35pm and went into the wee hours of the night, joined at the meeting were key figures in Ogun APC believed to be loyalists of a former Governor of the State and some Ogun State federal lawmakers. The meeting ended at 3.05am on Thursday morning. It will be recalled that Mr Adeola had earlier denied rumours of a gubernatorial ambition when his posters were seen loitering around the state capital. Mr Adeola may now begin state wide consultations of wards and elders as early as December. It is not exactly sure which party the incumbent will be moving to in other to actualize his desire for a second term as Ogun State governor. The rumour mill are mentioning the Accord Party as a likely option while some believe he may strike a deal with Prince Buruji Kashamu for the PDP ticket but the Ogunleye factor may prove to be the governors Achilles heels. While all those are still rumours, the one thing that is certainly sure is that Rt Hon Egbetokun is the man charged with negotiating the new platform to which the governor and his trusted aides are likely to cross over to, most likely early next year.
