Is Tom Brady a thug??? Sick and tired of the negative chatter about Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman! Gee wiz! A 4.2 GPA high school graduate, a Stanford communications graduate from Compton and game-changing defense back who led the NFL in interceptions this year and has the most in the NFL since 2011 yet allll of this attention with a negative connotation is beyond suspicious to me. Poor showmanship - dont see it. Poor sportsmanship - dont see it. Impassioned (on the field) interview right after game - obviously. Veiled racism? Certainly smells and sounds like it. Marketing genius and brand management - maybe - considering CNN broadcasted his news conference live. Intentionally bringing race into the discussion - wouldnt surprise me. Thug - absolutely not. Stereotyping African American males - a societal ill that knows no bounds. The mischaracterization of Sherman and the fact this is even being discussed is an absurd and fraudulent application of the characterization of athletes. Prime Example: was Tom Brady discussed in these terms when he cussed the referees out after the Monday Night Carolina Panthers game in November and continued his profanity laced tirade in the locker room unabated? Or was he touted as a firey, impassioned competitor??? And to hear the golden boy say we win with graciousness and when we lose we can do better was egregious at best. Guess he, like many in America, are mad at Sherman - that is what he embodies and represents. #BlackMaleGenius #KingsofIndustry
