Is a 100% Gospel of Grace Dangerous? by elizabethnthompson on September 26, 2013 The Gospel of Grace was birthed at Christ’s death. It was then, the veil was rent in two from top to bottom, giving us full access to the throne room and the presence of the living Godhead. The need for man and man-made laws to satisfy the demands of a righteous God became obsolete. From that time on, we were no longer under the 613 Levitical laws of do’s and don’ts but under the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because of the beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit, we no longer follow rules designed by man, but follow the promptings of God within our hearts. We became 100% under grace. Jesus didn’t die on the cross so we could live under a 50/50 Gospel of grace; setting us half free from the law. We may think a 50/50 grace is a balanced grace but is that what the Word teaches? Jesus’ blood brought grace, 100% grace. Either we live under grace or we live under the law. What do you choose? All things are now lawful for us to do but the question becomes are all things good to do? Laws never have or ever will bring mankind to a place where sin does not exist. Sin will always be with us. So will embracing the Gospel of Grace 100% lead to a license for people to sin even more? Will people take advantage of sin if there isn’t someone to say what is right and wrong and what a person can and can’t do? Can we rely on the Holy Spirit to do what the law could not do? Is the Holy Spirit’s guidance enough to keep people aligned with the heart of God? Personally, I’m going to side on trusting in the Holy Spirit’s guidance for what is right or not in my life rather than trusting in man and man-made laws. How about you? The law creates a “have to” instead of “I want to” response to walking the Christian road. A personal, close, abiding love relationship with the Creator will displace a desire to run in folly with sin. The heart can’t be controlled with fear tactics of control but can be wooed by the Gospel of Grace. Living 100% under the Gospel of Grace does not lead to loose living; loose living comes from not allowing your heart to be 100% mastered and governed by the love of the Father. Romans 6:13-18, “Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master because you are not under law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means. don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey – whether you are slaves to sin which leads to death or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness,” NIV. The key to walking circumspectly is not about the do’s and don’ts, it’s about a personal relationship with the Godhead. The law says, “no, no, no but grace says, “know, know, know Me.” Elizabeth, Founder and President of Mighty Women of Vision
