Is anybody else alone and not doing anything today? Im pretty bummed for a lot of reasons... one being, I have asked my dad (whom I almost NEVER ask for anything because as a kid, despite him having money growing up, he raised me to appreciate the value of a dollar and if I want something, I need to work for it - I never had free hand outs) if he could PLEASE help me buy a new laptop for school and my developer projects. My current laptop is going on 6 years almost and is becoming really slow; I would like something new so I can keep up with a lot of things. Simple request? He flat out told me no, that he had no money, blah blah... At the time I just said, okay, maybe he doesnt have as much money as I thought when I was a kid - fair enough. I had asked him this last August but TODAY, I saw he bought BOTH of my sisters new computers equaling almost $4,000. Theyre not even INTO computers so they dont need the full 9 yards and upgrades (even I didnt ask for that much, I just wanted a base model) yet they got it anyway. What did I get? Nothing. Not even a card, not even a call - he failed to acknowledge my existence. Didnt get anything from my mom, didnt get get anything from relatives, boyfriend (though we have each other so Im not mad at him or anything) or friends... just nothing. I thought maybe my secret santa would pull through and get me something nice or thoughtful but despite giving them exact details of EVERYTHING I could possibly like (from movies, games, clothing, etc.) they got me something I actually cant even use and cost 99 cents (the receipt was shipped with it) - was a real bummer, not gonna lie, even though the thought was appreciative, even if there wasnt much of it. Anyway, long rant but yeah. I wanted to go to the movies today or something but figured theres other people in the area having shitty Christmases too. I put up a thread a couple of days ago about my boyfriend whos a photographer - we were just going to walk around and have mini photoshoots and document the day type thing. If anyone wants to join us, we would be glad if you could accompany us. :) We know theres a few bars open today as well. Just something to ignore the day and have some fun.
