Is anybody else going to post anything weird here on this forum ? I saw the new Tom Cruise movie. Parts of it were good. I just felt like I was watching another Transformers movie. It had way too many elements of sci-fi movies like War of the Worlds, RoboCop, Starship Troopers, etc. It could have been so much better, had they NOT stuck to the typical Hollywood format, and tried something unusual. There were way too many aliens. It it should have been more like the original Alien or Predator, with less CGI. For example the head alien, was boring as h*ll. It was like the movie, Glob from the 1960s. It should have instead been a hologram Bill Murrays Head or maybe John Malkovich. And there should have been some scene similar to Top Gun, where Tom and Emily Blunt or like in Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze get romantic. They simply missed a huge opportunity there to make a couple of extra hundred-million dollars. There should have been some cameo appearances. There was no teaser at the end of the credits. This is a must now in any big Hollywood production. They should have realized the humor element of this film was what separates it from the pack, and they should have stepped back and said, whoa, we are onto something here, and found more humor, but instead they just added more CGI aliens. The 3D sucked. Save your $. My opinion, is that it is the glasses or the way the projectors work, and that it is not the movie itself, that needs better 3D. My bet is future kids will watch this at home and the 3D will be awesome.
