Is it normal to smear the ashes of burned palm fronds on a persons - TopicsExpress

Is it normal to smear the ashes of burned palm fronds on a persons forehead while whispering magical chants? Apparently this week it is! Bernies latest post ties together his personal superstition (Catholicism) with his personal love-interest (Cate McGregor)... and discusses lent and the whole concept of life after death. ...except Bernie doesnt really believe the eternal-life concept himself. He, like most Christians, has at least a hint of doubt about the eternal afterlife. If he sincerely believed that this life was just a temporary inconvenience he must suffer to get into the eternal afterlife, he wouldnt go to such great lengths to preserve his life now, and would celebrate rather than mourn death. The fact that Christians, like most other humans, try their best not to die, and mourns those who do... suggests that theyre not entirely convinced about this whole afterlife thing. At least, theyre not willing to bet their life on it. Maybe its all just a fable to make people feel better about death? Though I hope Im wrong... because if Bernie and others like him actually have to explain themselves to a Christian god, given how they treat and judge others, I dont think it would turn out well for them. bernardgaynor.au/lent-lieutenant-colonel-mcgregor/
