Is it right for two cops to gun down (using 5 shots) a mentally unstable man (brandishing a knife) who isnt lunging or making sudden movements, but just walking towards them yelling kill me now? I mean dont get me wrong, everyone has the right to defend themselves from imminent bodily harm, and officers have statutory powers in the line of duty... but it just seems to me a taser or shot to the leg would have diffused the situation quite easily. The man then lives, and seeks out proper medical treatment - not a bullet. *Police provocation is a common method of suicide.
