Is repentance “REJECTION” of all sins? What does it mean - TopicsExpress

Is repentance “REJECTION” of all sins? What does it mean to “REJECT”? To reject simply means, to refuse to accept something given or offered. in the light of this definition, can one truly say, he reject all sins (i.e repent) before he got saved? only those that have not fully comprehend the true nature of sin would say yes. Sin is not something offered but a state or a condition of the unregenerate. Rom 5:12, Ps 51:5, Eph 2:1. how then can a man say he reject his state or his condition? For it is like a pentecostal woman who is still single at the age of 40 praying and saying, “I reject being single”. can this rejection have any effect on her situation? only the deluded would say yes. Again, this kind of rejection is like a pentecostal man that went to the hospital to do a test and was discovered to have contracted a deadly disease, he responded to the doctor and said “I reject this sickness”, is such rejection possible? of course, but only for self deception. If the lady had been offered a ‘single life’ then she would have had the opportunity to reject, if the man had been offered the disease, then he would have had a possible rejection, but since that was their state, it is impossible for them to reject, rather they are to look for solution for a cure or a change. now can a sinner(unsaved) reject his sins before he can be saved? only the mislead would say yes. How can he reject his state or his condition which is SIN? you can only deceive yourself but in reality nothing has changed. for an unsaved man to reject sin is like telling himself, “I’m not a sinner”. Therefore to ”REJECTION OF SIN” can not be even considered as a possible meaning of repentance. Furthermore. “REJECT” is allowed to be used synonymously with forsake and turn, which means ”TO STOP” or “TO LEAVE” or “TO ABANDON” as Sureword has rightly said, but some have persistently ”REJECTED” this meaning and insist that it means reject, I wonder what other meaning of reject do we have. All those that have been subscribing to this false teaching of repentance have unknowingly fall into the same damnable heresy of the Roman Catholic Church that have used the corrupt Latin Vulgate that translated repentance in Matt 4:17 as “DO PENANCE” which is an act to show one is sorry, whereas the Erasmus Greek text reads “BE PENITENT” which is to be “CONTRITE” this was first noted out by Martin Luther. while the Roman Catholic Church requires you to kneel in front of Basilica else you end in purgatory, our preachers goes even further to require a man to TURN, FORSAKE, REJECT(STOP) all sins before he can be saved else he burn in hell. what wickedness. Thus the GNV and other corrupt versions reads in Matt 4:17 “ From that time Jesus began to preach his message: “Turn away from your sins, because the kingdom of heaven is near!” whereas the KJV which is our only final authority in all manners of faith and practice reads “ from that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Is it that our KJV only preachers have started consulting these corrupt version for “better” interpretation of scriptures?
