Is sleep deprivation affecting your fat loss goal? In short, yes. Around 35% of us are considered sleep deprived. Funnily enough, thats the same as the percentage of us considered obese. Although it isnt 100% accurate, there is a strong correlation between fat loss and adequate sleep. Seven hours is considered the minimum amount of sleep we should be getting to keep our fat cells happy. One study in particular stands out regarding this. Two groups were put on different sleep schedules but followed exactly the same diet. Those who were in the sleep deprived group experienced a 55% reduction in fat loss compared to those getting adequate sleep. You are effectively cutting your fat loss potential in HALF just by not getting enough sleep! So get some shut eye and help yourself burn those fat cells. Like and share :)
