Is there a good way to search for ancestors born in countries that dont speak English. I have Swedish ancestors Im looking for, and I found a Swedish genealogy page but its all in Swedish of course! For instance, Im trying to find the Swedish parents of my 3rd great grandparents: Julius Lindquist (b. May 22, 1856 Morlanda, Sweden d. July 1, 1927 Lynn, MA) and Julia Andersdotter (Americanized on records as Anderson after coming to the US). They were married October 28, 1877 in Sweden. They lived in Pawtucket, RI for the most part. Massachusetts for a time as well. Apparently they departed Sweden on the SS Orlando Dec 15, 1882 to Hull, England, then to the US. The 3 Lindquist children born in Sweden had their names changed upon coming to the US. Johann/John Charles Adalbert became Charles Lindquist b. 12-21-1877 Orgryte, Sweden Ada Constantia became Ida Mae b. 8-18-1979 Orgryte, Sweden Agda Emilia Oscara became Cora n. 12-1-1881 Orgryte, Sweden Ive been told by separate people that Julius middle name was Augustus, and another said Adrian. The last name has also been spelled as Lindqvist. The US born children were Ethel, Robert, George, Gertrude, Andrew and Benjamin Lester. All of the US born children, except for Ethel were adopted out. Julius did remarry after Julia died, to Mary Hilton. That record says Julius fathers name was also Julius but Im not sure if thats correct. Any advice/help for finding Julius and Julias parents would be appreciated! (I included a picture of my great-great grandmother Cora/Agda. She married Thomas Dick and helped raise my grandfather after his parents divorced.)
