Is there any hope for Football Administration in Ghana? ******************************************************* I have been very reluctant to write on this issue , but recent proceedings have fuelled me on.Football administration in Ghana has over the years been operated by a cabal , whose interest has been on their welfare and not sports in Ghana.We have come far as a people , and one unifying thing within our societal fibre has been football.Hence ,it must be greatly guarded as a national security item.Since time immemorial, football administration in Ghana has been led by a team of crooks bent on stampeding any one who wants to change the status quo.The famous Mallam Isa who promised to stamp out corruption when made minister, was trapped with $46, 000 and was imprisoned for 6 years.We have had sports ministers who for fear of being trapped gave in to the cabal of thievery groups in the football administration in Ghana.Ghana has been duped big time by these corrupt sports administrators over the years since 1992 and we must demand accountability now. In recent years, we have pride ourselves in the black stars, pumped in millions of dollars to the detriment of other national football teams not to even talk of other sporting disciplines, yet they have given us nothing in return but disgrace on the international stage.There has not been proper accountability of tax payers money spent on the national senior team since 2006.Yet we pumped millions of dollars into football.In recent past, when government demanded accountability after a tournament, they run to hide under the global cabal for protection under the guise of government interference and threat of sanctions of the country in subsequent tournaments. Till date we dont know what came out of that investigation which resulted from a rambo styled invasion ofnthe Federation Headquarters. Brazil 2014 has been the icing on the long standing rotten cake of football administration in Ghana. Shambolic preparations, selective inclusion of players who were bench warmers, ill decisions to transport party foot soldiers, the playing body holding the nation to ransom demanding $100, 000 as appearance fees, Mahama led govt also airlifting over $3m dollars in a hollywood fashion with armed guards in a three two formation march on the streets of brazil with motorcades blasting their sirens in escort,player indiscipline leading to hefty slappings , supporters airlifted seeking asylum in brazil claiming there is religious conflict in Ghana amongst others characterized our 2014 world cup campaign. For me it could be pardonable but for the pompous stand taken by the sport administrators in their press conference showing no remorse.The minister too is saying that the monies spent was not from the consolidated fund but monies raised by themselves. Well done, you did a good job by raising funds to fund your activities, but if a public officer in the name of Ghana raises fund for any project whatsoever, the funds becomes public money.finito. From the ongoing commission of enquiry , its evident that things went wrong and some monies have been compromised.The mysterious $500, 000 popping up in the ministry account during the commission duties raises some eyebrows.The commission is doing a good job and must be encouraged. They are unearthing our suspicion over the years and demanding people to be accountable for their actions.I wish some will be jailed as deterrent for the future. Did I hear the soft spoken, non hurting, Im in charge coach , Dr Akwasi Appiah has been sacked ? Though I pity him, he deserves it.The signs were on the wall.They manipulated him as coach and later sack him.Why is Kwasi Nyantakyi and his team still at post? We must bite the bitter truth.Government must intervene now.Dissolve the board, lets be sanctioned, clean our house and re-build a New team like nigeria did.We must do this and do it now.To hell with FIFA and CAF led by football mugabes.We cannot continue to pump millions into just the senior national team for no returns.Brazil should be the last time government took supporters to a tournament.
