Is this disrespecting the teacher? or simply voicing what what - TopicsExpress

Is this disrespecting the teacher? or simply voicing what what students really feel, but scared to say? The statements that he made are true in most classrooms in todays society. I did security in the school district off and on for the last 10 years and saw this first hand and I had to calm the student down before he/she made it to the office so that I was able to hear what happened in their point of view. Because when I read the referral from the teacher, it was saying something totally different from what the student had said. Sometimes I would go back to ask the teacher why they sent the student out, Ive have a few say, because he was disrupting class, and when I asked how they were disrupting class most of the teachers would say, because he/she was talking... but in most of the cases that I discovered was that most of the students told me that they were only asking either the teacher or another student for something that they needed or didnt have such as a pen, pencil, paper or what chapter they were suppose to be in. So, is that cause for kicking the student out of class? Mind you, I was this student at one time and some of your were too. YOU DONT BECOME A TEACHER TO GET A PAYCHECK, YOU BECOME A TEACHER SO YOU CAN INPUT SOME OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED AND SOME HOW IMPART IT INTO WHAT EVER SUBJECT THAT YOU ARE TEACHING SO THAT THE STUDENT WILL GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING AND WANT TO LEARN. Once you do that, then youve done your job and up to the student to accept and learn verses the teacher just teaching for a paycheck and handing worksheets out and sit down at your desk and expecting the student to learn. Some students need one on one tutoring, but how would you know to get that one on one tutoring for that student if you dont know your students weakness, handicap or learning complications, if you dont know who your student is. This statement is not for those of you who care and love to teach, but to those who stop caring for the students and doing it just to get paid... - D. Collins
