Is this what you think of as our NHS? Here are the NHS brand guidelines for Independent Sector Treatment Centres (ISTCs) that are bidding for, and providing elective and diagnostic services under, Phase 2 of the ISTC Procurement Programme. These guidelines explain how you can apply the NHS brand to all Phase 2 marketing materials and activity. You can print and/or download all of these guidelines by clicking on the PDF link on this page. Positioning your NHS services As an Independent Sector Treatment Centre, you are contracted to provide services on behalf of the NHS. For this reason, it is essential that patients understand that your services are an integral part of their NHS treatment. All your services must be positioned as NHS services and branded with the NHS logo. When describing your services, you should refer to them as services ‘delivered on behalf of the NHS’. The role of the NHS logo The NHS logo is one of the most powerful logos in the UK, carrying: over 95% recognition among the general public; and very strong levels of credibility, authority and trust. As a result of this recognition and trust, the NHS is perceived to be an impartial and credible provider of health advice, information and services. By using the NHS logo and corporate identity consistently and correctly, you will help patients and the public to: identify and access NHS services; understand that the service they receive will be delivered in line with NHS standards and values; and feel reassured that the service is part of their wider NHS treatment.
