Mine is thawed out and so is my duck, and Im cooking the giblets and neck from the turkey making homemade broth. Here is the Thanksgiving Survival Guide!! What would you add? Thanksgiving Survival guide Monday-thaw out your turkey, thaw in fridge thaw 24 hours each for every 4=5 lbs Tuesday-Make cranberry sauce, pie dough, stock, dips and appetizers Wednesday-Set table with plates platters, faltware, stemware and freshly cleaned linens Salt/brine your turkey if doing so assemble stuffing get ready to bake in seperate dish and store in fridge make pies and other desserts Thursday-Get Turkey out about 10:30 to let come to room temp, never cook an ice cold Turkey. 11:30-Cook turkey, get vegetables ready that youre cooking 1:00 set up bar, make sure you have lots of ice 1lb ice per person 1:30 get dressed for your guests 2 pm take out side dishes so they warm up to serve and cook side dishes that need cooked 2:30 check turkey temp for doneness turkey is done at 165 degrees a large turkey cooks about 4 hours When turkey is done let it rest for at least 30-45 minutes before slicing 3:30 make your gravy set out appetizers 4:00 open the wine to be served, take butter out of fridge and let it come to room temp warm rolls/breads in oven Start moving food to serving area Carve Turkey and serve Happy Thanksgiving, Enjoy Good Food with Family and Good Friends
