Isabel had a big day today. They did a bronchial scope to look at her airway and determine what was wrong with her airway and whether or not she needs a trach. Her airway showed signs of swelling but its going down. The doctor said her airway and vocal cords look surprisingly good to have been intubated for most of the last four months. They didnt have to trach her and theyre gonna work to wean her back off of the ventilator. I noticed that under light, shes starting to develop blue in her eyes. She has a very high chance genetically of ending up with blue eyes. And now her weight is 6 pounds and a couple of ounces. Shes getting big! She handles everything that gets thrown at her and keeps going. Today I wiped tears out of her eyes for my first time and it nearly broke my heart. I am one wrapped daddy and her mommy loves her just as much. :-)
