Isaiah 3:10-11 In this passage of scripture we first observe - TopicsExpress

Isaiah 3:10-11 In this passage of scripture we first observe God’s blessing toward the righteous, and God’s curse toward the wicked. Both these people receive their fates because of their actions. The righteous, God to them says it shall be well for they shall receive the fruit of their doings. The wicked are cursed and are rewarded according to their evil plans. In this passage of scripture we see quite clearly the power of choice. If we are going to be counted as righteous, we have to be intentional about it. We must choose to listen to the voice of God’s word, both by His Spirit and by His written word and be intentional, be wilful about responding in the direction that He points us. The difference between righteousness and wickedness is that one will choose to do right, the other will choose to do wrong. In fact, righteousness in many places in the bible is described by its actions. For example, Deut 6:25, 1 John 3:7. Therefore, to be righteous or wicked is what we do, and what we do flows out of who we are. But it is also a choice. In particular if we are believers. We are saved, but have the opportunity each day to choose righteousness or wickedness. If we are not saved, we need Christ’s transforming power, we need to call on Him for salvation, then we will have the liberty to choose to do right.
