Isaiah for Today: Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter -- when you see the naked to clothe them and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Isaiah 58:7 ... Jesus lived these words and His disciples went forth to color the New Testament with variations of this theme from Matthew to Jude - words, again, proclaimed 2700 years before His appearance! Isaiah was a prophet, but these lessons are for all - those in his time, those to come and us now. Faith is a wonderful exemplification of our love for God, but works are crucial as well hand in hand - if we feel sorry for a starving man but do nothing but pat him on the head, we are sinning in omission. See the hungry, FEED the hungry, see the cold, put a coat on him and a man in the rain deserves at least an umbrella. Tis the season, yes, but it should be every day!
